On Wednesday, federal officials denied that the enigmatic drones seen in New Jersey were coming from an Iranian “mothership.”
During an appearance on Fox News on Wednesday, U.S. Representative Jeff Van Drew, R-NJ, asserted that the unidentified flying objects in his state’s skies are coming from an Iranian warship off the east coast of the nation. The U.S. Department of Defense categorically disputed this assertion.
According to high-ranking sources, Drew, a member of the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, believes Iran is in control of the enigmatic items.
These drones are part of a mothership that Iran launched, most likely a month ago. Off the east coast of the United States of America lies that mothership. According to Drew, they have launched drones into everything that we can see and hear. Once more, these come from reliable sources. This is not something I say lightly.
He went on to say that whether the drones are coming from Iran or are being flown by hobbyists, they should be shot down.
Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh strongly refuted Drew’s comments on Wednesday.
She asserted that there isn’t an Iranian ship off the U.S. coast or a “mothership” that is sending drones in the direction of the US.
Singh stated that there is no proof the enigmatic flying objects are the work of an enemy or connected to a foreign entity. Singh stated that U.S. officials will keep an eye on any further developments on the subject.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden also suggested that New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy issue an executive order prohibiting the use of drones for recreational purposes at night and declare a state of emergency.
According to Golden, residents are growing more concerned about public safety and security as a result of the increase in drone activity after dark. We can’t wait much longer. To save our neighborhoods, the Governor must take immediate action and the Air National Guard must intervene. Furthermore, we are requesting that Congress swiftly enact federal legislation that would empower state police and sheriff’s offices around the country to confront this problem head-on.
