(WNY News Now) For Thanksgiving, the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities (BPU) has made adjustments to its service and operation schedules. It is recommended that customers prepare ahead of time for office closures and service delays.
In honor of Thanksgiving, Jamestown Board of Public Utilities (BPU) offices will be closed on Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29. On Monday, December 2, the Customer Service Office will reopen for business at 9 a.m.
The pickup of garbage and recycling will take place on Friday, November 29, rather than Thursday, Thanksgiving Day. On Saturday, November 30, there will be the usual Friday collection. This week’s recycling is metal.
Consumers are reminded that they can pay their bills online and over the phone using an e-check, credit card, or debit card. To make an online payment, click the blue “My Account” button at http://www.jamestownbpu.com. You can pay over the phone by dialing 716-661-1660, extension 3.
Additionally, customers can deposit BPU payments in drop-off boxes outside the Tracy Plaza Third Street entrance of City Hall, in the vestibule of the Jamestown Police Department on the East Second Street side of City Hall, and in the Customer Service Office parking lot down the D driveway, 92 Steele Street. Only checks or money orders should be used to pay for items placed in drop boxes.
Following business hours, customers can contact 716-661-1640 to report issues in any of the BPU Divisions.
