Jamestown Man Arrested in Domestic Dispute After Allegedly Striking Officer, Damaging Vehicle

(WNY News Now) – A domestic dispute on Jamestown’s north side escalated into an arrest when a man allegedly struck an officer and caused property damage.

Jamestown, N.Y. – On the evening of November 7, 2024, Jamestown Police Department officers on a GIVE detail responded to a north side residence following reports of a disorderly person. Upon arrival at approximately 7:24 PM, officers spoke with the victim and assessed the situation, which revealed that 29-year-old Robert H. Kennedy 6th, a Jamestown resident, was involved in the disturbance.

During the investigation, officers determined that Kennedy had allegedly caused damage to a motor vehicle belonging to the victim. The police attempted to de-escalate the situation and requested Kennedy to exit the vehicle. However, he reportedly responded by striking an officer with his fist.

Kennedy was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. He faces charges of Criminal Mischief in the 4th degree and Obstructing Government Administration. Authorities held Kennedy pending his arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
