(WNY News Now) – A routine street check in Jamestown early Wednesday led to the arrest of a fugitive wanted for burglary in Warren County, after a brief foot pursuit.
Jamestown, N.Y. – In the early hours of November 13, 2024, Jamestown Police officers from the Third Platoon conducted a street check in the area of Cole Avenue and South Main Street. At approximately 3:01 a.m., officers attempted to stop a man, identified as 39-year-old Aaron M. Nazario, who was riding a bicycle on the sidewalk. The officers noted several infractions, including riding on the sidewalk without a bell on the bicycle, a violation of city code.
When approached, Nazario allegedly attempted to flee on foot. Officers pursued him and, after a brief chase, successfully apprehended him without further incident. During the arrest, officers discovered Nazario was wanted by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office for burglary.
Nazario was subsequently transported to the Jamestown City Jail. He is charged with multiple offenses, including resisting arrest and being a fugitive from justice. He is currently being held at the jail pending his arraignment at Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
