Jamestown Police Arrest Man on Narcotics and Bench Warrant Charges

(WNY News Now) A narcotics investigation at a South Side residence on January 24, 2025, has resulted in a bench warrant and several felony drug charges against a Jamestown man.

Dale R. Linkous, 26, was taken into custody by Jamestown Police Department officers on January 24 at around 3:35 PM after they responded to a report of an unwelcome individual at a South Side apartment.

When cops arrived, they were told that Linkous, a resident of Jamestown, was no longer allowed to stay at the house. Officers found Linkous inside the residence, sitting on a couch, already aware that he had an active bench warrant from Jamestown City Court.

As officers explained the warrant, they noticed Linkous trying to hide things in a backpack beside him. He was brought to the Jamestown City Jail after being apprehended without incident.

Officers found containers of the prohibited substance methadone and amounts of crack cocaine and fentanyl packed for sale during a follow-up search of Linkous and an inventory of his possessions. Officers also discovered digital scales and other drug paraphernalia.

Linkous has consequently been accused with the following crimes:

  • Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree (Felony)

  • Three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree (Felony)

  • Two counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree

While awaiting his arraignment in Jamestown City Court, Linkous is still being held at the Jamestown City Jail. The accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, just like everyone else who is accused of a crime.
