Jamestown Police Recover Stolen Electric Bike, Arrest Suspect

(WNY News Now) During a routine patrol, police found a Jamestown man in possession of a stolen electric bicycle and took him into jail.

New York’s Jamestown Scott E. Moore, 49, was taken into custody by Jamestown Police Department First Platoon officers for criminal possession of stolen property on Friday, November 22, 2024, at around 9:08 AM.

Officers were on patrol at Barrett Avenue and McKinley Avenue when they spotted a man wheeling an electric bicycle that looked like the one that had been reported stolen from the south side of Jamestown two days prior. After investigation, it was determined that the bike was stolen.

Moore, a resident of Jamestown, was arrested and charged with a crime, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree. Awaiting his arraignment in Jamestown City Court, he is presently being detained at the Jamestown City Jail.

The electric bicycle was given back to its original owner by the authorities.

The accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, just like everyone else who is accused of a crime.
