Jamestown Resident Faces Multiple Charges Following Traffic Stop

(WNY News Now) A local man was arrested on several offenses, including resisting arrest and driving with a suspended license, following a routine traffic encounter in Jamestown.

New York’s JamestownJamestown Police stopped a car for a vehicle equipment violation on January 9, 2025, at around 11:27 a.m., close to the intersection of Shaw Avenue and Elm Street. Blake R. McAffee, a 32-year-old Jamestown resident, was the motorist who got out of his car during the check and refused to give police his identification.

McAffee made an attempt to leave the area and go inside a nearby house, according to the Jamestown Police Department. When he refused to be brought into jail, officers arrested him. McAffee was accused of resisting arrest and second-degree obstructing governmental administration.

McAffee was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree when it was discovered via further inquiry that he was driving the car while his driver’s license was suspended. Additionally, he received a citation for driving a car without enough stop lights.

After being taken to the Jamestown City Jail, McAffee was eventually released on a ticket to appear. He is expected to appear in Jamestown City Court to respond to the accusations, which include equipment violation, aggravated unlicensed operation, resisting arrest, and impeding governmental administration.

The accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, just like everyone else who is accused of a crime.
