Jamestown Woman Arrested on Warrants, Methamphetamine Charge Following Street Check

(WNY News Now) A local lady was arrested after a routine street check in Jamestown turned up methamphetamine and outstanding warrants.

New York’s Jamestown. Stephanie K. Derby, 44, a resident of Jamestown, was arrested during a street check early on Saturday morning, November 30, 2024, by Jamestown Police officers on patrol near E. 5th Street and Pine Street.

Derby was identified by officers, who also verified that she had active warrants from the Jamestown Police Department. A amount of methamphetamine was found during Derby’s arrest during a search of his person.

Derby was taken to the Jamestown City Jail, where she was arrested on suspicion of 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and detained until her appearance in Jamestown City Court. The accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, just like everyone else who is accused of a crime.
