Jamestown, New York (WNY News Now).Early Friday morning, a local lady was charged with narcotics offenses during a routine traffic stop in downtown Jamestown.
The Jamestown Police Department reports that at around 1:40 a.m. on January 31, officers from the 3rd Platoon pulled up a car for suspected traffic infractions close to the intersection of North Main Street and West 3rd Street.
Police found methamphetamine and suboxone in the possession of the driver, Cheryl L. Tane, 59, during the course of the inquiry. After being arrested, she was sent to the Jamestown City Jail.
Tane received numerous traffic fines and was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. She was released on an appearance ticket and is expected to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later time in compliance with the bail reform requirements of New York State.
The accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, just like everyone else who is accused of a crime.
