Jerome LeArtist Joyner, 63, Tega Cay, SC

On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, Mr. Jerome LeArtist Joyner, age sixty-three, passed away at Tega Cay, South Carolina, surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Savannah, Georgia, he received his schooling in the Chatham County public school system before continuing his studies in the US Marine Corps. Reaching Warrant Officer 4 from the ranks of the enlisted is an uncommon accomplishment. Following a distinguished military career, Jerome served and protected in the Temecula, California, Sheriff Department before finishing his career in the Chatham County, Savannah, Sheriff Department and retiring to Tega Cay, South Carolina.

We are aware that today will always be a happy day since God, who is known as an angel, is at home today.

His mother, Pastor A. M. Joyner of Savannah, Georgia, his wife, Lolisa Berry Joyner of Tega Cay, South Carolina, and his daughter, Shanitra Barnes of Charlotte, North Carolina, as well as his two grandkids, Azariah Barnes and Elijah Barnes of Charlotte, North Carolina, survive Jerome. Stepson Reginald McMillian of Charlotte, North Carolina; son-in-law Brandon Barnes of Charlotte, North Carolina; two sisters, Debra Bacon and Jacqueline Aikens of Savannah, Georgia; two brothers, Drayton Joyner Jr. and Kenneth Leonard Joyner of Savannah, Georgia; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
