The father of JonBen Ramsey, who said on Thursday that he welcomed the fresh pop culture spotlight on the nearly 28-year-old murder, still holds out hope that his daughter’s killer will be apprehended.
According to 80-year-old John Ramsey, police in Boulder, Colorado, can use new DNA technology to investigate the murder that attracted international notice around Christmas 1996.

Ramsey stated that there is a net advantage to fresh perspectives on this unsolved murder that has enthralled a large portion of the country for almost thirty years, even though renewed attention to his child’s death can also lead to conspiracy theories.

Early on the morning of December 26, 1996, JonBen T, the teenage beauty queen, was discovered dead in the Boulder basement of the family’s house. Since then, the identity of the person who strangled the infant has remained a mystery.
