(WNY News Now) In Little Valley, a careless motorist almost caused a head-on collision, which sparked a chase and an arrest for DWI at four times the legal limit.
NY’s Little Valley Bryan L. Everts, 38, of Little Valley was taken into custody by Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s deputies on December 23, 2024, at around 11:53 PM, following a terrifying series of events that started when his car crossed the center line and almost collided with another vehicle.
Everts refused to yield when patrol officers tried to halt the car, leading to a chase that ended in a Little Valley home driveway. Deputies noticed obvious indicators of impairment upon interaction. It was determined by a roadside investigation that Everts was operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Evert was charged with several felonies after further testing showed that his blood alcohol content was four times the legal limit of 0.08%. At the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, Everts was arrested and processed.
Everts is accused of the following:
-
Felony Driving While Intoxicated (DWI)
-
Felony Driving with a BAC of 0.08% or Higher
-
Aggravated DWI (BAC 0.18% or Higher)
-
Failure to Use a Designated Lane
-
Failure to Comply with a Lawful Order
-
Driving to the Left of Pavement Markings
-
Reckless Driving
Everts was freed on his own recognizance after being arraigned in the Town of Little Valley Court. He is expected to show up in court later. The accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, just like everyone else who is accused of a crime.
