Man Charged with Trespass at Fluvanna Library After Ignoring Prior Ban

(WNY News Now) A 46-year-old man from Ellery is accused of breaking a previous ban from the Fluvanna Library and is now facing criminal trespass charges.

New York’s Ellicot A third-degree criminal trespass prosecution was brought against Ellery resident Tobin S. Hagstrom, 46, on December 9, 2024, following an incident at the Fluvanna Library.

Hagstrom tried to enter the library in violation of a trespass notice that had previously been issued forbidding him from being on the grounds, according to the Town of Ellicott Police. According to the authorities, a library employee who recognized Hagstrom stopped him when he attempted to enter through the enclosed entrance.

Hagstrom was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for a centralized arraignment after police arrived on the scene and detained him. He is expected to confront the allegations in Town of Ellicott Court at a later time. The accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, just like everyone else who is accused of a crime.
