Man Hospitalized After Stomach Stabbing on Syracuse’s North Side

(WNY News Now) – A Saturday evening stabbing on Syracuse’s North Side left a 57-year-old man injured but in stable condition, prompting police to seek public assistance.

On the evening of Saturday, November 9, 2024, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Syracuse Police officers responded to a reported stabbing near the intersection of South Alvord Street and Butternut Street. Upon arrival, officers found a 57-year-old male suffering from a stab wound to his abdomen. The man was promptly transported to University Hospital by American Medical Response, where medical personnel determined his injuries were non-life-threatening.

According to initial findings, the stabbing is believed to have occurred in the 200 block of Seward Street, a residential area north of downtown. While the victim’s condition is stable, authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack, aiming to determine any possible motive or suspect involvement.
