Meet the Grinch who stole Christmas … from alleged drug dealers

This year, the Grinch may be busting narcotics gangs in addition to stealing Christmas.

After directing a police operation in the capital, Lima, to demolish an accused drug-trafficking gang, a Peruvian police officer dressed as Dr. Suess’ iconic Christmas-hating grump took over the bad list last week.

The national police agency provided footage of the Grinch racing along a street in San Bartolo, southern Lima, while wearing Santa’s attire and carrying a sledgehammer over his shoulder.

After using his hammer to bust down a door, the Grinch and other law enforcement officers attack a building belonging to a family of suspected drug dealers. One of them yells “police!” before handcuffing a woman inside the building.

It was not made public who the officer in the Grinch costume was.The Grinch and the cops find what they believe to be drugs. The Grinch is then shown on camera leading two women into the rear of a police vehicle.

The Grinch and his sledgehammer are in front of an officer who claims that his team apprehended “three drug dealers that are now in custody,” following an agent who “ingeniously managed to go unnoticed disguised as the Grinch.”

The Grinch can also be seen standing by the accused beside a table that is covered in what appear to be cash and drugs that were taken from the scene, according to police-released photos.

The accused’s identity and the outcome of the case against them were not made public by the police.

The operation followed the police unit’s long-standing custom of wearing operatives in festive costumes for operations around the holidays, including Christmas and Halloween.
