Megan Thee Stallion restraining order against Tory Lanez extended to 2030

Los Angeles Rapper Tory Lanez has given Megan Thee Stallion a restraining order that will last until the beginning of 2030.

Judge Richard Bloom of the Los Angeles Superior Court accepted Megan’s plea for a protective order on Thursday. The hip-hop artist said that Lanez, who is serving a 10-year term for shooting her in the feet, was harassing her from jail using surrogates.

Following a hearing, the order was approved. In an objection to the restraining order request, Lanez’s lawyer, Michael Hayden, stated that his client’s incarceration means Megan is no longer in danger, either now or in the future, and that the two had not lately had direct contact.

According to a synopsis of the hearing on Thursday, Bloom determined that Megan’s attorneys had satisfied the requirements for a temporary restraining order extension until January 9, 2030.

A message requesting comment on Friday was not immediately answered by Hayden.

After claiming that Lanez, a Canadian rapper whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was continuing to harass her online through third parties, Megan was granted the temporary injunction in November.

Call logs at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi, according to the petition, demonstrate that Lanez is orchestrating attempts to undermine Megan’s credibility, including fabricating assertions that the gun and bullet pieces involved in the case are gone.

Lanez was found guilty of three felonies in December 2022: assault with a semiautomatic firearm, carrying an unregistered firearm in a car, and recklessly firing a firearm.

Lanez’s attorneys, who are contesting his conviction, filed a motion for a new trial, but the judge denied it.

During the trial, Megan testified that as she left a party at Kylie Jenner’s house in the Hollywood Hills, Lanez discharged the gun at the back of her feet and yelled for her to dance.

At the time of the shooting, Megan, 29, was already a well-known rising star, and her music has since become extremely successful. She had No. 1 songs with Savage, with Beyonc, and as a guest on Cardi B’s sWAP. In 2021, she was awarded the Grammy for best new artist.

After starting to release mixtapes in 2009, the 32-year-old Lanez’s popularity steadily increased and he eventually moved on to major label albums. His most recent two made it to the top 10 on the Billboard charts.
