Jahque Bryan-Gooden reported her sister, Jahnay Bryan, age 23, missing on November 13, 2024.
Jahque told Dateline that her greatest fears were being a Black girl and being trafficked, being abducted, or being missing. She told a buddy in explicit detail, “If someone ever happens to me, find me.”
Jahque is determined to find Jahnay because she fears something has happened to her.
My sister and I last had a face-to-face conversation via email. In fact, Jahque informed Dateline that was last year. She merely sent me a kind email wishing me luck.
Jahnay returned home with their mother in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, shortly after graduating from Cornell University, where she had sent the email to her sister.
Jahnay progressively lost contact with the people in her life months after she returned home. According to Jahque, she had essentially ceased communicating with all of her pals.
Jahque has communicated with her sister’s ex-boyfriend, who shared with her an email he claimed to have gotten from Jahnay on August 1. Jahque claims that he authorized her to forward the mail’s contents to Dateline. absent for several months. The email read back. On Monday, I’m moving to a new city. Goodbye.
Jahque is unsure, but she believes Jahnay was residing in East Stroudsburg at the time of the communication.
Jahque claims that Jahnay’s ex-boyfriend got another email on October 16. It said, “I believe we should work in industry and get married.” I just spoke with the commissioner of a city’s Department of Water Management, and I think this is a great concept.
Regarding the email, Jahque commented that it wasn’t even grammatically correct. That was undoubtedly like, “Okay, what’s going on here?” You know? However, I doubt that her email would have been in the hands of anyone else. When Dateline contacted Jahnay’s ex-boyfriend, he acknowledged that he had received both of her emails on the specified dates.
That email on October 16 was Jahnay’s last known correspondence, according to Jahque.
In November, Jahnay’s family members made the decision to start blogging about her missing. According to Jahque, we then got a call from someone who said, “You know, we saw her in LA.”
A number of Jahque’s friends in the Los Angeles region proceeded to investigate a section of West 8th Street where Jahnay had allegedly been spotted after that phone call. Several others said they saw Jahnay there and precisely identified her, according to Jahque.
According to Jahque, we frequently run into people who say things like, “Oh, I saw her at this bus stop, or I saw her in this area.” All of the strangers who tell us, “Yes, I saw her,” live close to that street. They all claim to have seen her there. Additionally, she notes that Jahnay’s Outlook email showed that she was on Pacific Time, which is another clue that she might be in California.
The LAPD sent Dateline a news release on its Ebony Alert on Jahnay on November 19.According to the announcement, Jahnay was last seen on October 16, 2024, at approximately nine in the morning, close to the 2000 block of West 8th Street. Since then, Jahnay has not been seen, and her family is worried about her health.
In an email to Dateline, the LAPD stated that they currently have no more information regarding Jahnay’s disappearance. Officer Drake Madison of the LAPD Media Relations Division wrote, “The only information we have is what was provided in the news release.”
Jahque claims that she has tried but failed to get in touch with her mother, who lived in East Stroudsburg with Jahnay. Dateline couldn’t reach her either.
Jahque thinks that Jahnay is in grave danger. She claimed to have loved many individuals in addition to being loved herself. It’s frightening to realize that she hasn’t been in touch with the ones who love her the most. It’s not like her, isn’t it? It’s atypical conduct.
In the hopes that she will soon be able to express her love for her sister, Jahque uses the present tense and affectionate language to describe her. She is really intelligent. She’s –. She said, “She’s a natural leader.” She is so considerate and caring. Additionally, she is a person that people enjoy being around.
Jahnay has brown eyes and black hair. She weights about 125 pounds and is 5′ 7″. What she was wearing when she vanished remains unknown.
