(WNY News Now) Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania The owner of a home care service in Montgomery County and 19 other people have been charged in a multimillion-dollar scheme following a comprehensive Medicaid fraud investigation, Pennsylvania Attorney General Michelle Henry said Friday.
HARRISBURG—A Montgomery County home care service, its owner, and eighteen other individuals have been accused in a scheme that allegedly scammed the Medicaid program out of millions of dollars, Attorney General Michelle Henry revealed.
ComfortZone Home Health Care, LLC, a Medicaid provider located in Bala Cynwyd and authorized to offer Personal Assistance Services to qualified beneficiaries, was owned by Stephanie Mobley. The Office of Attorney General filed charges alleging that Mobley, her daughter Naya Campbell, who was Mobley’s second in command, and others conspired to cheat the program by filing claims for compensation for services that were never rendered.
Medicaid fraud, theft by deception, receiving stolen goods, tampering with public records, and conspiracy are the charges against all 20 defendants.
Numerous defendants are related to Mobley. It was anticipated that all 20 offenders would turn themselves up and be arraigned in Montgomery County court this week.
Attorney General Henry stated that the goal of the Medicaid program is to assist the Commonwealth’s most disadvantaged citizens, not to enrich those who willfully take advantage of it. A person or family in need of money that could have been used to pay for necessary services is deprived of every dollar that is pilfered from the Medicaid program.
The accusations came after a two-year joint investigation by the FBI and the Medicaid Fraud Control Section of the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. U.S. Customs and Border Protection also provided support for the inquiry. At the end of the case, the Fiftieth Statewide Investigating Grand Jury presented their findings and recommended charges.
Mobley, 52; Jasmine Mobley, 66; Willie Marks, 49; Campbell, 29 of Audubon; Dwayne Marks, 50; Barbara Thomas, 45; Travis Thomas, 42; Tysheem Thomas, 23; Leon Montgomery, 36; Cierra Campbell, 25; and all of the others are charged.
The following Philadelphia residents are listed: Dominique Mobley, 56; Jasmin Bollers, 37; Tiffany Hogans, 34; Antonio Gay, 34; Michael Dunson, 28; Anajah Dunson, 23; Chelsea Peoples, 27; Sabrina Grace, 29; Quamir Oliver, 29; and Tiara Broaddus, 29.
Additionally accused of being part of corrupt groups are Mobley, Campbell, and Barbara Thomas. Tiffany Hogans, Antonio Gay, and Dominique Mobley are also accused of perjury.
The alleged offenses took place from 2020 to 2023.
Senior Deputy Attorney General Benjamin McKenna is prosecuting the cases. Until and unless the defendants are found guilty, they are deemed innocent.
