(WNY News Now) – Rohmelo K. Lewis, 24, faces a 25-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to the manslaughter and robbery of Cortez Galmore in Niagara Falls.

LOCKPORT, NY – On November 4, 2024, Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced that Rohmelo K. Lewis, a 24-year-old resident of Niagara Falls, has been sentenced to 25 years in New York State Prison. The sentencing follows Lewis’s guilty plea to charges of Manslaughter in the First Degree, Robbery in the First Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree. The charges stem from a deadly robbery on May 3, 2022, in which Lewis admitted to killing Cortez Galmore, a recent arrival to Niagara Falls.

Two of Lewis’s accomplices have also faced justice. Isaiah J. Christian, 21, who participated in the incident with Lewis, previously entered a guilty plea for Manslaughter in the First Degree and Robbery in the First Degree, receiving a 20-year prison sentence. Another accomplice, Shawn Bomberry, 20, who was not involved in the fatal incident but took part in related robberies, pleaded guilty to Attempted Robbery in the Second Degree and received a two-year prison sentence.

First Assistant District Attorney Doreen Hoffmann and Assistant District Attorney Christine Savoia prosecuted the case. Lewis’s sentencing was presided over by County Court Judge Caroline A. Wojtaszek.
