(WNY News Now) The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office reports that an Olean man was arrested for driving while intoxicated and other offenses following a car accident on I-86 in Kennedy early on Sunday morning.
Kennedy, New York The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office was called to a car accident near Exit 14 on Interstate 86 on January 12, 2025, at around 2:35 a.m. Nicholas Bohdanowycz, 46, of Olean, New York, was the driver of the vehicle when deputies arrived on the scene.
According to authorities, Bohdanowycz first resisted verbal orders to get out of his car, so deputies had to help him get out. He persisted in refusing to comply during the procedure, which led to an obstruction allegation.
Before being released into jail, Bohdanowycz underwent an on-site medical evaluation. After being sent to the Chautauqua County Centralized Arraignment Program, he was accused of second-degree impeding governmental administration. In addition, he is facing a number of traffic and vehicle-related charges, such as dangerous lane movement, speeding that is not reasonable or prudent, and driving while intoxicated (DWI).
Bohdanowycz will appear in court later to answer to the allegations after the case was submitted to the Town of Poland Court. The accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, just like everyone else who is accused of a crime.
