(WNY News Now) – A nine-month drug investigation by the Olean Police Department’s Emergency Response Team has culminated in multiple arrests following a search warrant on South 3rd Street.
Olean, N.Y. – The Olean Police Department executed a search warrant early yesterday morning at a residence on 309 S. 3rd St. as part of an extended investigation into suspected drug sales in the area. Officers arrived at approximately 6:20 a.m., leading to the arrests of two men within the residence: Micah Hicks, 40, and Elliott Smalls, 45. Both were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a Class B felony, and were held pending arraignment. Investigators reported finding cocaine on the premises.
Later in the day, Olean police apprehended two additional individuals on the 100 block of S. 3rd St. on outstanding indictment warrants. Tobias Price, 47, and David Brooks, 54, were charged with drug sales-related offenses. Both were taken to the Cattaraugus County Jail, where they await arraignment.
This operation follows an October 9th arrest of Stacy R. Spencer, 35, of 310 S. 3rd St., on an outstanding indictment warrant, charging him with third-degree criminal possession and sale of a controlled substance, also Class B felonies. Spencer was also remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail. On October 24th, Heather Chase, 32, with no listed permanent address, was charged with third-degree criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance. She was arraigned in Olean City Court and remanded to jail.
These arrests are the result of an extensive nine-month investigation conducted by Olean’s Street Crimes Unit, with assistance from the Southern Tier Drug Task Force and the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s K-9 unit.As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
