Because of a fuel leak, Honda is recalling over 205,000 SUVs, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.
In a recall notice issued on Thursday, the NHTSA stated that in certain vehicles, the fuel filler pipe and neck tube may separate, causing fuel to leak.
“A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire,” the alert stated.
According to the NHTSA, this recall is limited to select 2023 and 2024 Passport and 2023 to 2025 Pilot vehicles, potentially impacting 205,760 of them overall. If required, dealers will examine and fix the impacted vehicles’ gasoline filler necks and pipes at no additional cost.
In addition to contacting Honda customer care at 1-888-234-2138 and the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236, owners should anticipate receiving their notification letters by mail by January 6, 2025. According to the document, Honda’s recall number is OKM.
