Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen hospitalized after he was ‘bucked’ off horse, fracturing vertebra and ribs
Jim Pillen, the governor of Nebraska, was taken to the hospital on Sunday after being flung from a horse, breaking his spleen and breaking his vertebra and seven ribs, according to officials.
According to a news statement from his office, Pillen, 68, a Republican, was hurt after being bucked off a new horse while out on horseback with family on Sunday.
Out of extreme caution, he was brought to Columbus Community Hospital before being transferred to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
According to the announcement, the governor is scheduled to stay at UNMC for a few days and is described as alert and in constant communication with his team.
