Luigi Mangione indicted on first-degree murder charge in UnitedHealthcare CEO’s killing
The Manhattan District Attorney's Office said that Luigi Mangionewas was indicted on counts of first-degree murder in connection with the ambush death of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson earlier this month.
The indictment strengthens the case against 26-year-old Mangione for Thompson's December 4 murder outside a hotel in Manhattan.
According to a statement from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, Mangione is also charged with two counts of second-degree murder, one of which is a killing in the act of terrorism; four counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon; one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon; and one count of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument in the indictment from the New York State Supreme Court.
