Appeals court disqualifies Fani Willis from Trump Georgia case

In a case she filed in connection with attempts to void the 2020 election, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis was disqualified by a Georgia appeal court on Thursday and was not allowed to continue prosecuting Donald Trump and co-defendants. The ruling is probably going to ruin the case and stop the prosecution of Trump and his supporters for trying to reverse his defeat. Following Trump's victory in the 2024 election, federal prosecutors have already abandoned the other criminal case pertaining to the 2020 election. "After carefully considering the trial court's findings in its order, we conclude that it erred by failing to disqualify DA Willis and her office," the court stated, alluding to a previous decision that permitted Willis to continue representing the case. Willis's frien...

Undocumented Chinese men say they’re baffled by Trump’s reported plans to deport them first

Chinese undocumented immigrant Kevin Yang, 46, said he used to feel a feeling of obligation to the United States, but now that President-elect Donald Trump's second term is approaching, he feels afraid. According to Yang, the appreciation I previously had for the United States for allowing me to enter the nation has since changed to worry and anxiety. And I am aware that others share my sentiments. Many undocumented Chinese men claim they couldn't be further removed from the rationale behind the proposed policy, which is that Trump believes they are assembling an army within the United States, as the incoming Trump administration seeks to prioritize deporting Chinese nationals, citing national security concerns. Trump's plans for mass deportations were discussed by a number of Chinese und...

Trump said that the debt ceiling is a pointless idea and that nobody knows for sure what would happen if it were ever violated. He said that it would be a disaster and that no one should want to know. He claimed that it had no significance other than psychologically. "If there's going...

South Carolina Considers Medicaid Work Requirements Under McMaster Directive

Columbia, S.C.Governor Henry McMaster has directed the state's Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) to implement additional job requirements for Medicaid recipients in order to keep their coverage. Once President-elect Donald Trump assumes office, the department has been directed to draft a formal request to fulfill the directive. Revisiting Work Mandates South Carolina was authorized to implement Medicaid work requirements under the first Trump administration, but the COVID-19 epidemic prevented the program from ever going into action.
