Jamestown Man Sentenced for Narcotics Conspiracy

(WNY News Now)BUFFALO, N.Y.—U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced that Kevin Hughes, 64, of Jamestown, NY, was sentenced to time served, or roughly 17 months, for his involvement in a drug conspiracy. The punishment was imposed by U.S. District Judge John L. Sinatra, Jr. Hughes helped co-defendant Jun Martinez with cocaine trafficking, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua A. Violanti. Hughes collected money from clients, vacuum-sealed and delivered drug earnings to suppliers, received drug shipments at his home, and drove Martinez around Jamestown for drug-related activities. While traveling to obtain drugs in September 2020, Hughes and Martinez were stopped by an Illinois State Police Trooper close to Frankfort, Illinois. (WNY News Now)CHARLOTTE, NY After a months-long drug investigation in the Town of Charlotte, a search warrant was executed at 6175 Rt 60, and a Sinclairville lady was arrested on several drug and handgun charges.The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office took the picture. On January 29, 2025, at around 9:15 a.m., narcotics investigators from the Jamestown Police Department, Dunkirk Police Department, and Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office carried out the warrant. GDP grew at a 2.3% pace in the fourth quarter, less than expected

According to a Commerce Department study released Thursday, U.S. economic growth slowed somewhat more than anticipated in the last three months of 2024. The economy expanded at a 2.3% annualized inflation-adjusted pace in the fourth quarter, according to the gross domestic product, which is a measure of all the products and services generated throughout the expansive U.S. economy during that time. Following growth of 3.1% in the third quarter, economists polled by Dow Jones had predicted a 2.5% increase. Despite very strong growth, the study ends 2024 on a fairly depressing note. Olean Man Arrested on Family Court Warrant

(WNY News Now) On Monday night, the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office arrested a 43-year-old man in Olean, New York, for violating the Family Court Act. Ronald J. Haynoski was taken into custody by the police on January 27 at around 10:18 p.m. in the vicinity of North 7th Street and Reed Street in Olean. Deputies verified that Cattaraugus County Family Court had issued him an active warrant. Prior to being remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail, Haynoski was arraigned in Allegany Town Court. He will stay in detention until his subsequent Family Court appearance. The accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, just like everyone else who is accused of a crime. Cattaraugus County Man Arrested on Assault Warrant

(WNY News Now) After the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office conducted an investigation, a 42-year-old male was taken into custody on an active assault warrant. On January 29, 2025, at around 9:01 a.m., deputies carried out the arrest warrant for Lance C. Lavallee, 42, at a home on South Street in Cattaraugus. After being safely arrested, Lavallee was transferred to the Cataraugus County Sheriff's Office for processing. Lavallee was accused of third-degree assault by the authorities, who claimed he meant to injure someone. He was freed on his own recognizance after being arrested and arraigned in Little Valley Town Court that same day.
