Passenger train collides with fire truck in Florida, injuring 3 firefighters and 12 other people

In Delray Beach, Florida, a passenger train struck a fire rescue truck on Saturday, injuring over a dozen persons, including three firefighters, according to authorities.

Around 10:45 a.m., the crash happened in Delray Beach close to East Atlantic and Railroad Avenues.

According to a statement posted on Facebook by Delray Beach Fire Rescue, three firefighters were hurt and were reportedly stable in a hospital.

Twelve passengers on the train were sent to the hospital by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue due to minor injuries.

A damaged fire engine was seen next to the railroad tracks in pictures shared on social media. The route where the incident happened has been closed, and the reason of the collision is still being investigated.

The train’s operator, Brightline, reported on X that there were delays.
