Pomfret Man Arrested for Theft and Violating Protection Order

Pomfret, New York (WNY News Now)A local guy was taken into custody by Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies after a fight that involved stealing and a breach of a court order.

Deputies responded to a complaint of an incident at a residence in the Town of Pomfret on January 18, 2025, at around 8:25 PM. Investigators found that 41-year-old Alexander B. Reilly had stolen something from someone else. Additionally, an active order of protection against him was broken by the theft.

At the scene, Reilly was taken into custody and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail to be arraigned. He faces charges of second-degree criminal contempt and petit larceny. At a later time, Reilly is expected to appear before Pomfret Town Court.

The accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, just like everyone else who is accused of a crime.
