Randy Moss steps away from ESPN after revealing ‘internal’ health issue

Randy Moss, a Hall of Fame wide receiver and ESPN football pundit, will take “extended time” off work to address “a personal health challenge,” the network announced on Friday.

On the set of “Sunday NFL Countdown,” Moss first revealed to fans that he had an undisclosed medial issue. He also encouraged males to be especially mindful of health checkups.

In order “to focus on a personal health challenge,” “Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss will step away from” his Sunday morning pregame show, according to an ESPN statement.

Randy has been a vital team player for almost ten years, always improving Countdown with his passion and wisdom. ESPN is fully behind him, and we’re excited to have him back when he’s ready.

Moss stated he was dealing with a health issue in two Instagram posts on Sunday.

Man, there’s something inside of me that I’m fighting. Moss went on to say, “Your boy will overcome it.” I am surrounded by a wonderful family and a fantastic group of doctors.

Moss, 47, specifically instructed all of you men to get your blood test done and we’ll work through it, even though he did not reveal the specifics of the ailment he might be battling.

According to the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, men over 55 should talk about getting examined for prostate cancer, and individuals 45 and older should get evaluated for colon cancer.

Other health issues that may be screened for on a regular basis include heart disease, diabetes, blood pressure, and cholesterol.
