Baltimore started the game with a 75-yard, eight-play touchdown drive. On their subsequent drive, the Ravens made a field goal to take a 10-0 lead following a Houston punt.
A safety in the second quarter gave the Texans their lone first-half goal. On their subsequent possession, however, they fumbled the ball over on downs, and Baltimore responded with a scoring drive of 99 yards to lead the club 17–2 at the half.
