The Reg Lenna Center for the Arts will host Saturday Night and The Wild Robot.On October 11, 1975, at 11:30 p.m., a fierce group of young writers and comedians revolutionized culture and television. Saturday Night (Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m.), which was directed by Jason Reitman and written by Gil Kenan & Reitman, is based on the real-life events that took place behind the scenes in the ninety minutes before the premiere of Saturday Night Live. We count down the minutes in real time until we hear those well-known words, filled with humor, mayhem, and the beauty of a revolution that nearly didn’t happen.Saturday Night is 109 minutes long and has a R rating.In The Wild Robot (Saturday, Nov. 23 at 2:00 p.m.), a robot named ROZZUM unit 7134, or Roz for short, is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to its harsh environment. Over time, the robot develops relationships with the local animals and adopts an orphaned gosling.The Wild Robot is a 102-minute film with a PG rating.
Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield’s romantic comedy-drama We Live in Time (December 11 at 7 p.m.), the romantic comedy-drama Love Actually (2003), which is set in a Christmas setting (December 20 at 7 p.m.), and Jesse Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin’s comedy-drama A Real Pain (January 8 at 7 p.m.) are among the upcoming films at The Reg.Most movie tickets at The Reg cost $8 to purchase in person at the box office and $10 to purchase online at regenna.com and over the phone at 716.484.7070.
