California’s Pebble Beach. While recuperating from glass piercing his right palm while creating ravioli, Scottie Scheffler was irritated by having to remain at home for two events that he usually participates in. He was grateful that the injury wasn’t more severe.
Scheffler discussed in detail on Tuesday how he hurt his hand preparing Christmas dinner and how he worked out hard in Dallas’s frigid temperatures early last week to ensure he wasn’t making an early comeback to the PGA Tour.
With an 80-man field that includes amateur partners for the first two rounds at Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill, he makes his season debut at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the second $20 million signature event.
Without a bandage and swinging as easily as ever, Scheffler performed at Cypress Point on Monday and Pebble Beach on Tuesday.
What about the doomed dinner?
According to Scheffler, he and his family rolled the dough because they wanted to create ravioli from scratch, but they were renting a home and lacked the necessary equipment to cut the pasta. The trouble started when he discovered a wine glass.
He answered, “I put my hand on top and it broke.” Since this incident with wine glasses, I’ve only heard terrifying tales, so proceed with caution. The stem kind of got me in the hand when it broke. I have to live my life and accidents happen, therefore I can’t live in a bubble.
He claimed it could have been far worse. The stem literally passed right through the hand of the person I spoke with after they performed the exact identical action. It’s one of those transactions where I was furious with myself right away because I thought, “Gosh, that was so dumb.” But while you’re in the moment, you simply don’t think about it.

It was among Scheffler’s few errors of the year.
Despite winning seven PGA Tour championships, his second green jacket, and the Olympic gold medal, Scheffler stood out in 2024, according to Rory McIlroy, who is in his 18th full season as a professional.

Scheffler’s only visible sign was a little, transparent bandage covering the area beneath his middle finger, where he had surgery to remove the glass fragments from his upper hand.
He likes to play in a tournament called The Sentry at Kapalua, which he had to skip because it helps him get rid of whatever rust he may have developed over the holidays.
In the California desert, he skipped The American Express, another tournament he likes to play in because of the favorable weather and the way it helps him gauge his level of play. Not his finest style of golf, but birdies are what Palm Springs is all about.
Scheffler stated that it is not enjoyable to miss certain activities.
In addition to watching more golf than usual, he also watched a package of videos of his victories, which allowed him to see his thoughts and emotions throughout the competitions. In addition, he watched the competitions he missed.
“Watching golf on TV and not being able to play is still really annoying,” he remarked.
