South Dayton Man Arrested for Felony DWI After Crash in Villenova

Villanova, New York (WNY News Now).After a single-vehicle collision in the Town of Villenova on Tuesday evening, a man from South Dayton was taken into custody on felony DWI charges.

On February 4, 2025, at around 9:26 p.m., the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office dispatched to a collision on Ball Hill Road. The driver was identified by deputies as Jesse S. Gens, age 31.

Authorities concluded after an investigation that Gens was drunk when the collision occurred. Following his arrest, he was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle, moving from a lane unsafely, and felony driving while intoxicated (DWI).

At a later time, Gens is expected to appear in Vilena Town Court to address the charges. The accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, just like everyone else who is accused of a crime.
