Structure Fire in Town of Busti Contained Quickly, No Injuries Reported

The Lakewood Fire Department was called to a reported structure fire in the Town of Busti, near North Avenue, on January 9th at around 12:45 PM. Shortly after, C-373, the first responding unit, arrived on the scene and took command right away. In order to make sure there were enough resources available for the situation, firefighters reported a high level of fire involvement with exposures and requested a second alarm.

The second to arrive, Engine 371 (E-371) rapidly deployed two lines. They concentrated their efforts on putting out the fire and defending neighboring structures from it. Furthermore, Engine 372 (E-372) showed up and assumed responsibility for setting up a hydrant supply to guarantee sufficient water flow for the operation.

Because to the responding personnel’ well-coordinated efforts, the fire was said to have been extinguished within 15 minutes of their arrival on the scene. There were no casualties reported at the location, and the fire was extinguished without any problems.

Fire teams from the Busti and Celoron Fire Departments provided assistance to the Lakewood Fire Department. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Fire Investigation Team, Chautauqua County Emergency Services, Chautauqua County EMS, and the Lakewood-Busti Police Department all contributed to the firefighting efforts.

By 3:34 PM, the whole fire scene had been removed and secured.
