SUNY JCC Hosts Art Faculty Exhibition with Opening Reception

(WNY News Now) At the Art professors Exhibition opening celebration at the Weeks Gallery in Jamestown, SUNY Jamestown Community College encourages art lovers to discover the artistic abilities of its professors.

SUNY IN JAMESTOWN On February 6, from 5-7 p.m., Jamestown Community College will hold an opening reception for their Art Faculty Exhibition at the Jamestown Campus Weeks Gallery.

The public is welcome to attend the free event. There will be light refreshments and hors d’oeuvres available, as well as the chance to meet the artists and see their work.

Illustrations by Kate Barry, a technician in the art and design studio; digital/new media collaboration by artists in residence Emily Drew and Aaron Perez; ceramics by Elliott Hong; paintings by adjunct instructors Nathan Jeffery and Kelsey Renko; photography by adjunct instructor Mark Kirsch; and sculpture by instructor Madison LaVallee are among the pieces in this exhibition created by JCC’s art faculty and staff.

Colin Shaffer, the college’s director of Galleries, stated, “We are thrilled to honor the talents of the instructors who serve our Fine Arts students at JCC with this faculty exhibition, which is the first we’ve held at the Weeks Gallery since 2019.” This exhibition features a variety of traditional and modern media and provides a unique window into each artist’s profession and creative process.

The show runs until March 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays at Weeks Gallery, which is situated on the second floor of the Sheldon Center. Holidays are when the gallery is closed.
