According to authorities, a guy was taken into custody Wednesday morning after allegedly shooting one person dead and five others wounded at a warehouse in Ohio.
Bruce Reginald Foster III, the suspected gunman, was found at a Columbus residence after authorities searched for him.
The shooting occurred on Tuesday at approximately 10:30 p.m. About 150 people had to be evacuated to a nearby building since overnight personnel were at the warehouse, according to Greg Jones, the chief of the New Albany Police Department.
Jones stated that the shooting seemed to be a targeted strike, but he would not say if the suspect was a current or previous worker at the establishment.
Jones did not disclose the conditions of the five injured individuals, who were transported to a nearby hospital. According to him, police were still getting in touch with the relatives of the deceased and injured.
This is a horrible and heartbreaking circumstance. In order to save lives and secure the area, our officers and several other agencies acted quickly. Although no community ever wants to deal with this kind of circumstance, we were ready to respond swiftly and efficiently because we train for it. Jones issued a statement saying, “We will keep working to bring this situation to a full resolution.”
According to the New Albany Chamber of Commerce, the building where the incident occurred produces cosmetics for LBrand stores, according to Columbus’ NBC station WCMH.
