Suspected Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann accused of another slaying

The alleged Gilgo Beach serial killer, who is now officially charged with the murders of seven women close to New York City, was charged with murder once more on Tuesday.

In the past, Rex Heuermann has entered a not guilty plea to the murders of six women whose bodies were found on Long Island’s southern shore.

Since her skeleton remains were discovered in November 2000, he has been officially charged with the murder of Valerie Mack, a 24-year-old escort.

Mack’s indictment follows Suffolk County prosecutors’ earlier accusation that he killed Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, Amber Costello, Maureen Brainard-Barnes, Sandra Costilla, and Jessica Taylor.

In July 2023, Heuermann, an architect from New York City, was arrested and first charged with the murders of Barthelemy, Waterman, and Costello.
