Trump shares changes he ll carry out on day one and beyond in exclusive interview

When President-elect Donald Trump enters office on January 20, he promises to make changes right away, according to an exclusive interview with Kristen Welker, moderator of NBC News Meet the Press.

In his first postelection network television interview, Trump spent over an hour discussing policy initiatives that Americans might anticipate in his next term with Welker at Trump Tower in Manhattan.

He intends to try to abolish birthright citizenship and deport millions of undocumented immigrants. When Welker questioned Trump on whether he could ensure that American households wouldn’t pay more as a result of his proposal, he acknowledged that he was unsure about his campaign pledge to impose duties on imports from the country’s largest trade partners.

Trump claimed that many of the Jan. 6 rioters had received unduly harsh treatment in prison and declared that pardons will be granted on the first day. He claimed that these people were living in hell. He threatened to put several members of the House committee that looked into the attack on January 6 in jail.

Trump did delve into well-known complaints, but he refused to accept that he had lost the 2020 election. He insulted alleged enemies and accused President Joe Biden of causing the country’s political division. He maintained a certain distance from the conservative Project 2025, which was meant to serve as a guide for his administration’s new policy implementation. Although he initially rejected the policy guideline, he later came to appreciate it more and acknowledged that some of the drafters are now in his upcoming administration.

Syrian rebels force out Assad, free prisoners from notorious jails

After a spectacular lightning-strike sweep across the country, opposition forces led by the militant organization Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) stormed Damascus this weekend, abruptly ending the Assad family’s decades-long rule in Syria.

Assad gave up the presidency and escaped to Russia. His benefactor in Moscow, which helped the dictatorship crush what began as a nonviolent protest movement during the Arab Spring and turned into a bloody civil war that claimed hundreds of thousands of lives and caused a refugee catastrophe, attested to it.

President Joe Biden declared yesterday that the Assad regime has finally collapsed. As we all look to the future, he said, “It’s a moment of historic opportunity for the long-suffering people of Syria to build a better future for their proud country, but it’s also a moment of risk and uncertainty.”

Many Syrians who vanished under President Bashar al-Assad have come out to rejoin their loved ones, and rescue crews and families have flocked to an infamous jail in Damascus where inmates are thought to be housed underground.Get real-time updates here.

Jay-Z accused in a lawsuit of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000 with Sean Diddy Combs

According to a lawsuit, Jay-Z, a rapper and music entrepreneur whose real name is Shawn Carter, reportedly raped a 13-year-old girl in 2000 with Sean Diddy Combs. According to the unnamed accuser, she was driven to an MTV Video Music Awards after-party, where she was assaulted.

Combs was named as a defendant in the federal complaint when it was first filed in the Southern District of New York in October. Carter was added when it was refiled on Sunday. In a long statement, Carter labeled the accusations “idiotic” and said that Tony Buzbee, an attorney based in Texas, was acting in an unprofessional manner. In recent months, Combs has been accused of assault and rape by Buzbee in a number of cases, all of which have hidden the identity of the complainants. For the first time, he has named another well-known defendant in this lawsuit.

By defeating the Los Angeles Chargers 19–17 in a back-and-forth Sunday Night Football game, the Kansas City Chiefs, the NFL’s best team this season at winning close games, secured their ninth consecutive AFC West division title and maintained control over their path to the AFC’s top playoff seed.Other highlights are shared by Greg Rosenstein, sports editor for NBC News:

The Chiefs’ division title run is the second-longest in NFL history, only surpassed by New England’s 11-game winning streak from 2009 to 2019.

Josh Allen lost despite having one of the best games in NFL history. For the first time in NFL history, the Buffalo Bills quarterback ran for three more touchdowns and threw for three more, but it wasn’t enough as his team lost to the Los Angeles Rams 44-42. Los Angeles improved to 7-6, while Buffalo fell to 10-3.

You risk losing if you choose to undervalue the 11-2 Minnesota Vikings. They destroyed former quarterback Kirk Cousins’ Atlanta Falcons 42–21 on Sunday. On his way to the resounding victory, Vikings signal-caller Sam Darnold threw for 347 yards and five touchdowns, including two to Justin Jefferson and three to Jordan Addison.

The end of an era

The significance of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour was obvious to anyone with a pop music ear. It came to an end after almost two years, five continents, fifty cities, and 149 performances. Swift’s 11 albums were featured on the tour, which was characterized by friendship bracelets, thriving local economies, and even a congressional investigation after fans overloaded Ticketmaster.

I’m a little sad to see this tour come to an end since I’ve seen it unite so many people and create such excitement.Swift’s legendary tour creates priceless memories even when this era is past.Elizabeth Both, editor of associate platforms
