Teen Charged in Starpoint School Threat, Investigation Leads to Extreme Risk Protection Order

(WNY News Now) After an investigation into a threat against the Starpoint Central School District, a young guy has been charged.

NYA’s Pendleton The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday that a 17-year-old man had been taken into custody in relation to a threat against the Starpoint Central School District. The youngster was charged with Making a Threat of Mass Harm as a result of the Criminal Investigation Bureau’s investigation.

The teenager was referred to Niagara County Juvenile Probation and given an appearance ticket, according to Sheriff Michael Filicetti. Authorities requested a Temporary Extreme Risk Protection Order (TERPO) in order to mitigate potential risks due to the incident’s severity.

The inquiry was headed by Birmingham, G. Willis, and E. Finley, all of whom were supervised by Chief Schultz. The accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, just like everyone else who is accused of a crime.
