Texas Law Firm Enacts Mass Layoffs Amidst High-Stakes Wins

Texas accident and injury attorney Thomas J. Henry, renowned for promoting “big-dollar verdicts and settlements” through billboards, is reportedly facing widespread layoffs within his law firm.

As per the information available on his website, Thomas J. Henry boasts the title of the largest personal injury firm in Texas, employing over 250 personal injury attorneys and 350 support staff statewide. The firm maintains offices in Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Corpus Christi, and Dallas.

Recent reports from members of the Texas legal community suggest that as many as 200 staff members have been laid off. However, there is no official filing with the Texas Workforce Commission as of now.

According to the San Antonio Express-News, “Two of [their] sources mentioned that 165 individuals across three of the firm’s offices were let go. Both revealed that their firms had been contacted by former Henry staffers in search of new employment opportunities.”

Thomas J. Henry is recognized for his philanthropic efforts, supporting various causes such as food banks, women’s, and children’s shelters. Additionally, he has initiated a grant program benefiting Texas schools.

This remains a developing story, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

In the year 2023, the Texas Workforce Commission has received 212 WARN notices, leading to over 8,000 job cuts. This marks a substantial increase compared to 2022 when only 86 notices were filed.
