Texas SNAP Payments Up to $1,751: Final September Distribution and October Increases

In Texas, recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) are set to receive their final payments for September. While many have already accessed their benefits, the remaining disbursements will be processed from September 26 through September 28, depending on the recipient’s Eligibility Determination Group (EDG).

Texas SNAP Payment Schedule for September

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has confirmed that the last round of SNAP benefits will be issued to Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards based on the final digits of a recipient’s EDG number.

For example, beneficiaries with EDG numbers ending in 35-38 and 89-92 can expect their payments on September 26, while others with different EDG endings will receive theirs on September 27 or 28.

The distribution schedule for September is as follows:

  • EDG numbers ending in 35-38 and 89-92: Payments on September 26
  • EDG numbers ending in 39-41, 46-49, and 93-95: Payments on September 27
  • EDG numbers ending in 42-45, 50-53, and 96-99: Payments on September 28

Maximum SNAP Benefit Amounts in Texas

SNAP benefit amounts vary depending on the size of the household, with larger families receiving higher payments. Currently, the maximum monthly benefit ranges from $291 for a single-person household to $1,751 for a household of eight members.

October Brings a Cost-of-Living Adjustment

In October, Texas SNAP recipients will see an increase in their benefits due to the annual Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA). This adjustment, designed to help households cope with inflation, will slightly raise the maximum monthly benefits.

For example, a single-person household will now receive up to $292, while a household of eight can expect a maximum benefit of $1,756.
