Texas Woman Poses as Dentist, Causes Severe Damage to Patient’s Teeth

Authorities in Texas are searching for a woman accused of posing as a dentist and causing significant harm to a patient. Juanetta Solomon, 41, is facing felony charges for practicing dentistry without a license after an alarming incident involving a veneer procedure gone wrong. The Houston Police Department released a probable cause statement outlining the case, which has drawn attention due to the fake dentist’s use of social media to attract clients.

The TikTok Connection

The victim reportedly discovered Solomon through a TikTok account named “Tha_Toothly_Houston” in late March. Hoping to fix her teeth, the woman reached out for an appointment with Solomon’s unlicensed business, I Smilez Cosmetic Designz. According to the affidavit, Solomon performed the veneer procedure without making a mold, leaving the patient in considerable pain. The victim even struggled to close her mouth and found the veneers uncomfortable and too large.

Alarming Aftermath and Arrest Warrant

In the following days, the victim’s condition worsened. She experienced pain, difficulty sleeping, and severe discomfort, with her mouth bleeding, and eventually, one of her teeth fell out. When she sought assistance from Solomon, the unlicensed practitioner offered another appointment, but the patient chose to involve law enforcement instead.

Investigators confirmed with the Texas Board of Dental Examiners that Solomon is neither a licensed dentist nor a hygienist. The discovery led to an arrest warrant for Solomon, issued on August 30, as she continues to evade capture.
