Compared to the Jalen Hurts we’ve seen recently, this one was different.
The quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles was moving the ball downfield. Hurts threw the ball over 20 times in this instance. He was now unrestricted by the run-first strategy that has been so effective since the bye week.
Hurts replied with an outstanding effort in the Eagles’ 55-23 victory at Lincoln Financial Field, confirming the Eagles’ knowledge that they will probably need more from the passing game to defeat the Commanders in Sunday’s NFC Championship Game.
After the Eagles made it to their second Super Bowl in three years, Hurts joked, “I guess he let me out of my straight jacket a little bit today.”
It is not a problem that we are unable to. The only question is whether we do. It all depends on how we perform. It all boils down to how we play, whether everyone is in agreement, if we play with rhythm, and whether we can eventually find a way to win.
From my perspective, the best thing about this team, this sport, and how we’ve changed over the years while I’ve been here is how we’ve been able to discover ways to win in different ways. Having a defense that can turn the ball over, play hard, play ferociously, and fly to the ball is really helpful. All we have to do is find the strength to pull out another one.
