Three Bench Warrants Lead to Arrest Following Traffic Stop in Olean

(WNY News Now) Olean, NY Steven J. Schnieder, 34, of Olean, was arrested during a routine traffic stop on Sunday night after it was discovered that he had three outstanding bench warrants from Olean City Criminal Court.

Deputies from the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a car on Route 16 in the Town of Olean at around 10:06 p.m. on December 29, 2024. Schnieder was found to be the target of several pending bench warrants during the investigation.

Schnieder was safely taken into custody by the authorities and taken to the Olean Police Department. He was detained until his arraignment. The accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, just like everyone else who is accused of a crime.
