Tiger Woods announces his mother, Kultida Woods, has died

Tiger Woods revealed his mother’s passing on February 4.

I would want to convey with you my deepest sorrow that my beloved mother, Kultida Woods, died away early this morning. He posted a picture of her on social media. My mother’s spirit was just indisputable; she was a force of nature all her own.

According to sources, she was 78.

Woods also mentioned how supportive his mother was of him all of her life.

He wrote that she laughed and used the needle quickly. Without her, none of my own accomplishments would have been possible. She was my biggest supporter and fan. Her two grandsons, Sam and Charlie, adored her more than anyone else. I appreciate everyone’s prayers, support, and privacy at this trying time for my family and myself. I adore you, Mom.

The reason of death was not disclosed by Woods.

The 15-time major winner, who has a daughter named Sam and a son named Charlie with his ex-wife Elin Nordegren, has stated that his mother is the reason he wears red on Sundays when he plays golf, a custom that he started when he was a young player.

According to Carson Daly on the “TODAY” show in 2024, “My mom believed that red was my power color because I was born a Capricorn. As a result, I would wear red to some junior golf tournaments in Southern California, and I would win.”

To spite myself, I chose to wear blue to other competitions. After I lost, I changed to red, and I was much more successful that way.

The two of them came to an arrangement as a result, he continued.

Then, he remembered, I saved it for the final round of large events, saying, “Okay, Mom, I’ll make a deal with you that I’ll wear red on big events, because I can’t wear (it) every single day.”

He recalled telling her, “I’ll wear it on the last day of big events.” “All right,” she answered, “just wear it on the last day.”

In 2006, Woods lost his father, Earl Woods, to cancer.

My father served as both my closest friend and my biggest inspiration. He was a fantastic husband, friend, soldier, coach, mentor, and father. He posted the announcement on his website at the time, according to the Associated Press.
