(WNY News Now) – A routine traffic stop in Cambria has led to two arrests connected to a larceny investigation, revealing stolen goods from Home Depot and several active warrants for one of the suspects.
Lockport, NY – On the morning of November 12, 2024, deputies from the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office arrested two individuals following a traffic stop on Saunders Settlement Road in the Town of Cambria. The stop quickly escalated into a larceny investigation, uncovering stolen items and outstanding warrants against one of the suspects.
During the stop, deputies identified 41-year-old Mark Heughan of Niagara Falls, who had several active warrants. A search of the vehicle revealed items allegedly stolen from Home Depot on South Transit Road in the Town of Lockport. The driver, 50-year-old Angel Pasquale of Wheatfield, was charged with Grand Larceny in the fourth degree. Pasquale received multiple traffic citations and, under current bail reform laws, was released on an appearance ticket to appear in Lockport Town Court on December 10.
Heughan was also charged with Grand Larceny in the fourth degree and released on an appearance ticket. However, further investigation revealed he had four active warrants, including one from the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property and additional warrants from the Hamburg, Orchard Park, and Niagara Falls Police Departments for offenses including Grand Larceny and Petit Larceny. Heughan was taken into custody and transported to Niagara County Jail, where he awaits arraignment in CAP Court on these outstanding charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
