Traffic Stop Leads to Drug and Weapons Arrest in Jamestown

(WNY News Now) A local guy was arrested after a routine traffic stop in Jamestown turned up a stash of guns and drugs.

New York’s Jamestown Thomas N. Dulak, 45, was arrested on several drug and weapon-related counts following a traffic infraction on Barrett Avenue late Friday evening.

On December 20, 2024, at around 11:46 p.m., officers from the third platoon of the Jamestown Police Department pulled over a car for a moving infraction. Officers found that Dulak had an outstanding departmental warrant during the stop.

Officers searched Dulak after he was taken into custody and found a number of controlled narcotics, including methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl. Police also retrieved drug paraphernalia, a switchblade knife, and a cutting agent.

In order to await his arraignment in Jamestown City Court, Dulak was sent to the Jamestown City Jail. He is charged with several offenses, including:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (two counts)

  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree

  • Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree

The accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, just like everyone else who is accused of a crime.
