Travel Advisory Lifted, But Winter Weather Warnings Persist Across Cattaraugus County

(WNY News Now) Although the December 2 travel advisory has been formally canceled by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, locals and visitors are still advised to remain vigilant for current and impending weather conditions.

NY’s CATTARAUGUS COUNTY The travel advisory that was issued on December 2, 2024, at 8:00 PM has been lifted by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office as of 11:30 AM on December 3, 2024. Because of the dangerous traffic conditions and the substantial lake effect snow, the advisory had been issued. Drivers are still encouraged to exercise caution, though.

Until 7:00 PM tonight, December 3, a lake effect snow warning is in force throughout the whole region. This warning indicates that there is still a chance of significant snowfall and that the weather will change quickly, which might affect road safety and visibility.
