On Friday, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump announced that he has appointed Oregon congresswoman Lori Chavez-DeRemer as his labor secretary.
According to Trump, Chavez-DeRemer has put in countless hours working with labor and business to support Americans and expand the U.S. workforce.
Trump said in a statement that he was looking forward to working with her to restore our manufacturing jobs, increase training and apprenticeships, raise pay, and improve working conditions for American workers.
Earlier this month, Chavez-DeRemer, a 2022 congressional elector, lost her seat to Democrat Janelle Bynum.
