During normal post-flight inspections on Monday, JetBlue said that two passengers were discovered dead in the landing gear compartment of a plane in Florida.
Tragically, both people had passed away. The business stated in a statement early Tuesday that the identities of the individuals and the circumstances surrounding their access to the aircraft are still being investigated.
“This is a heartbreaking situation, and we are committed to working closely with authorities to support their efforts to understand how this occurred,” the statement continued.
According to JetBlue, the aircraft most recently took flight 1801 from New York JFK Airport to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
The identities of the two deceased and how they entered the aircraft were not disclosed.
